So, Setouchi is the Japanese word for the Seto Inland Sea of Japan. It is filled with islands and makes for a great place to cruise around on a boat that reeks of Japanese minimalist design. Also some pretty fresh seafood.
Along the way, we stopped off at Miyajima on Itsukushima Island off Hiroshima. Up until recent times (which in Japanese terms, means the last 300 years), people were not allowed on the island as it was considered very sacred. Nowadays they are learning that they can make money off of tourism so things are opening up slowly.
Of course, inevitably people complain that too many tourists are ruining the place, but those complaints come from tourists who are visiting the place. Which brings us to the very Zen conclusion that the best way to enjoy the place is to stay away.
