I was surprised to find out that Hasselblad makes a mirrorless camera with a medium format size sensor so I had to get my hands on one to try it out.
If this blog was inhabited by photographers, I could launch into a detailed review of the camera, but most followers on here are people who want to travel vicariously through me, so I will hit some highlights and post the exhibits that prove my only real point – it takes great pictures.
- Takes great pictures.
- Slow to start up.
- Slow to take pictures
- Very expensive
While testing the camera, Hasselblad released an update called the X1D II 50c, the price came down significantly and it is reported faster on start up. Still it is burdened with the medium format camera frame of mind, that you set up the picture with great care.
I will now shut up and let the pictures talk. Sadly, I can’t upload original files, but you will be able to see effects of the large sensor’s great dynamic range.
