So, my life is reduced cherry picking countries in the world & taking a quick trip to them. Having been to 68 countries in the world, Colombia looked good for #69. It was just a 4 1/2 hour flight from Atlanta & I decided to spend 3 nights in Bogotá. I won’t really pretend I’ve seen the country because I didn’t pick up any cocaine or see the ocean. But it has occurred to me too late that, with the exception of a brief connection with Panama, two sides of Colombia are coastline.
What I did find was an historic Old Town section known as La Candelaria wherein virtually every vertical surface is covered with colorful art. Colombian Pesos are roughly 5,000 to the dollar & the people mostly don’t speak anything other than an accent less Spanish. For me, it was very hard to understand & at the same time, it was difficult to make myself understood.
Bogotá has excellent bicycling infrastructure & every Sunday has their version of an Open Streets called Ciclovía where they close down 75 miles of roads for cyclists.

But enough of me prattling on, here are my pics.
The hot pink pub façade was pretty spectacular!
The door next to it is a grocery store. So, there’s that.
